This painting is about respecting American Sign Language, Deaf values, Deaf Culture and Deaf Education. Deaf students who were sent to mainstreaming takes away their Deaf Social needs and when that happens, they become isolated and they feel their Deaf values are taken away. ASL is embraced by this Deaf person. This painting is inspired by Picasso’s painting The Old Guitarist.
