This painting is inspired by a group of Deaf people going to the rallies in Los Angeles July 18-20, 2013 during the AGBAD’s Listening & Spoken Language conference. This painting is based on how system works within the Bermuda Triangle of Oralism. John Tracey Clinic, The House Research Institute and Advanced Bionics are among the Triangle that uses the AGBAD system. Their ideology is to throw away ASL and to ‘blue tape’ and tie hands from signing. In this concept, ASL and Hands are cut off and thrown in the pit. Signs are not allowed, behave like hearing children is their goal. To hear or behave like hearing person denies visual acuity. Everyone must be oral. This is AUDISM. This is why we must STAND.
