ASL and English

This painting shows the understanding of why ASL and English work together. As for English, this refers to READ and WRITE, opposed to LISTENING and SPOKEN.
Deaf person on the right, uses the hand sign “SEE” which refers to Deaf people are very visual, relying on what they see and understand, using American Sign Language, and read and write as well. Arrows from the eyes to the hand sign “SEE” and arrow on the palm of “READ” and arrow on the palm of “WRITE.”
